And here’s the final page. This one’s my second favorite, but it has quite a bit of detail so it’s not far behind the first page.

First panel’s pretty good. The hands came out well, I think. I practiced the gestures with my own hands…of course the mirror I used was too high, so I piled tons of books on top of each other so I could get high enough TOO see my hands here… The things I do for art.

Second panel’s just kinda scribbly. Anyone who’s a diehard AE YGO fan may recognize the pose—it’s nearly identical to one of the poses when he’s sitting on a horse during the Diabound/Osiris/Ra battle, I just moved the arm.

Panel 3…gets a LOT of reactions. Everyone who’s seen it so far has given some variation of “OOOOH! CUTE BABY!” So obviously I excel at drawing babies. Uh…used references from FMA volume 5 for the baby…as well as some actual photos of 2-month-old babies that I researched online. Twisted with my own style of course. No, that baby (Nara) is not actually injured at all; that blood is her mother’s (she WAS being held by Keru afterall). And that white thing is Kaeru’s shoulder for reference. @_@ Use your imagination. Nnnngh. I like how his hand came out too…very good.

Panels 4 and 5 are…eh. Not my faves. The sad look was hard to invent because…well again, Bakura doesn’t HAVE SAD EMOTIONS, but Kaeru does. So it was iffy…and the glare came out wrong I think, although I copied it nearly exactly from an expression of Bakura’s from the manga (because it’s a mad face for once, yay!)

Panel 6 is pretty good, I think. Again, I had to model the position myself so that it would look ACCURATE…which resulted in my room mates giving me odd looks when I was cradling a bundled sweatshirt like a baby since I don’t have any stuffed animals or anything here… Artists are amazing things, we are. Again, the expression and face is taken from the manga…JUST before Bakura sends Atemu crashing down a cliff, when he’s sitting on his horse and staring over at the kingdom. I modified the body though, he’s twisting the other way here. Also, the dialogue is again merged in from a different snippit, so this isn’t the original wording…since there IS no dialogue in the original scene, it’s all thoughts, which are harder to convey. I think it worked pretty well though.

Panel 7 I LOVE. It came out very well. The snippit mentions that his coat is stained a deeper red…well I don’t have red, but I like the dripping effect here. Plus the crosshatching I used…makes it look pretty good too, I think.

The last three panels to together…they’re okay. Panel 8 is decent, though it was hard to draw in details so small. The shaded corners of the panel are a technique I learned in my old cartooning class back in freshman year of high school…that, coupled with Kaeru’s shadow, adds a nice effect that I like. I had to invent some dialogue here since otherwise a reader wouldn’t know what he’s doing, though… Panel 9 looks nice when he’s fading out into the gloom…love the effect. Mostly a matter of shading and layers. The final panel is kinda…nothing. it just took me a while to build up the darkness enough.

The end! Overall I’m proud of this. It seems to get the right angst effect, so I’m not complaining.

Only, please don’t tell Kaeru I drew this, or he may have to kill me. @_@ He hates that pity stuff’n all…
