I'm one of those people that never gets sick. I get bizarre little problems all the time, like untraceable vertigo or a weird bump in my wrist...but I never get all out, stuffy nose, unbearable cough, throwing up, get-out-of-work-for-a-day sick.

When I do, apparently I get it bad.

Went home from work early on Thursday from what appeared to be the start of a very bad cold. It got worse; Friday morning my voice was completely gone. Saturday was just uncomfortable. Sunday the cold seemed to be clearing up, but there was an odd pressure in my ear that couldn't be gotten rid of. Monday morning I wake up to a stabbing pain in the same ear that is positively brutal; I call in at work again and go to the doctor's, only to discover that I have, in fact, an ear infection.

Lovely.

Got some medication for it and figured I'd be fine. Go in to work on Tuesday, and barely make it three hours before I have to go home sick again. Everyone at work said I either looked miserable or ought to go home, so I eventually did. I hate having to though--I've already missed two days, and I feel like I'm making excuses to leave work even though I'm genuinely miserable. Hrrgh.

Well, hopefully this will stop soon--I'm getting tired of the sensation of being deaf in one ear. >_<
